7-Layer Dip is one of the best appetizers for a party. It’s an easy dip to make and will be the hit of your party! Spread layers of creamy and fresh ingredients into a pan and watch your guests go crazy!
Although a late adopter, my husband now loves this dip. The first time I ever made it, I remember vividly his visceral reaction to it. He told me it looked like slop on a plate and that our guests were going to make fun of me. I did as I usually do and just rolled my eyes and said, “Okay, whatever.” Within an hour of the party starting, he saw that the large platter of dip was almost gone, he begrudgingly decided to try a bite, which led to bites two, three and four. Needless to say, he is now a 7-Layer Dip disciple and I got a much deserved apology!
My will power is always put to the test (and usually fails) when I make this 7 layer dip. It’s one of those quick and easy appetizers that is always the first thing to go. Everyone LOVES it! And it couldn’t be easier! Everyone makes their 7-Layer Dip recipe a bit different – some people prefer 5 layers, some people prefer 10 layers. Get as creative as you’d like with this! It is a fiesta after all! Tortilla chips or Fritos scoops are the best dippers for this dish!
How Long Will 7-Layer Dip Last?
7-Layer dip will last 3-4 days in the fridge. The longer it is stored, the more the layers will bleed together and it can get a bit watery (I just drain it off). Keep in mind that guacamole will turn brown quickly once exposed to oxygen. If you’re prepping this dip ahead of time, the guacamole should be fine as long as it’s covered completely with the sour cream. After the first 24 hours, it may not look as pretty, but it will still taste amazing!
