Welcome to Flip Flop Foodies! We’re so glad you’re here! I’m Angie and I’m a native Louisianan who transplanted to Dallas, TX almost 20 years ago. As a proud Cajun, great food and good times are a cultural centerpiece in our home. I am an HR Director by day and a freelance writer for the Dallas Observer letting all Dallasites know about the best places to check out around the city. My husband, Gregg, is a born and raised Texan who loves all things BBQ and smoked meats when he’s not wheeling and dealing and helping people find their dream home in his real estate business! Together, we started Flip Flop Foodies to share our favorite recipes and restaurant recommendations so you never have to cook or eat a bad meal again!
Bringing fun into your kitchen as you prepare dishes that you will be proud to serve to family and friends is our ultimate goal. Hopefully, these are recipes that you will want to make time and time again. Many of the recipes featured here are from my Cajun heritage. But, we also enjoy trying to recreate some of our favorite restaurant meals that we love, so you can make them at home. While they may not be an exact replica, they are as good as you can get without going to the actual restaurant! We also hope you’ll find our restaurant recommendations informative and useful when deciding where you would like to break bread with friends and family.
So, thanks for stopping by! We hope you’ll come back often! Don’t ever hesitate to send us a note with any questions, thoughts, or feedback about a particular recipe or restaurant recommendation!
