Tuna with Yuzu & Crispy Onions is the perfect starter dish for any sushi/sashimi dinner. I love they way the yuzu complements the mild/fatty flavor of the raw tuna. It’s incredibly easy to put together and your fish-loving friends will be so impressed.
One of our favorite dishes at Nobu is yellowtail with sliced jalapeños in ponzu sauce. It’s so refreshing and a great way to start a meal. If you are able to source sushi grade tuna, then you can make Albacore Tuna with Yuzu & Crispy Onions at home. Each bite is smooth, with a citrus/soy tang with a crunchy kick from the crispy onions and jalapeños.
The dish at Nobu does not include the crispy onions, but I enjoy the flavor and texture of the onions and it adds a different dimension that is unexpected. You can choose to make the dish with or without the onions, depending on your preferences. Looking for a special occasion to make this? Just wait for a gorgeous chunk of tuna, yellowtail, or albacore to show up at your fish market. That’s as special as it gets!
