My brother and sister-in-law live in the French Quarter of New Orleans. We recently visited them to enjoy all the Big Easy offers, including the “All That Jazz Po-Boy” from Verti Marte!
Verti Marte is a hole in the wall convenient store on Royal Street that sells anything from potato chips to cigarettes. In the back of the store there is a counter deli where you can order some amazing sandwiches to go. There are no tables available for casual dining here. Because this was our first time there, we asked for recommendations and everyone recommended the All That Jazz Po-Boy. We listened to their recommendation and we were definitely not disappointed.
It’s loaded with shrimp, turkey, ham, mushrooms and topped with their super secret WOW Sauce. It is literally heaven in a paper wrapper. Since returning home, I have done a lot of research to find a recipe for the All That Jazz online with no success. So I’ve broken it down for myself and the recipe below is as good as it gets without actually being in New Orleans and partaking in the original. Most people would never think about putting this combination of shrimp, mushrooms, ham, and turkey together. Yet, trust me when I say it is messy, flavorful and so freaking delicious!
