Around the holidays, you oftentimes see recipes for baked brie with some kind of fruit jam or maple syrup. And while those are all delicious, I oftentimes find myself craving more savory than sweet dishes. This Andouille Baked Brie hits the spot when you’re looking for something quick and easy to serve as an appetizer for a small gathering. Or when you’re home alone and want to treat yourself to a few decadent bites and a glass of champagne.
Andouille sausage is one of the most popular sausages in Cajun Country and you can find it at most grocery stores. But if you’re ever interested in making it from scratch, here is our recipe for it. If you’re unable to source andouille sausage at your local supermarket, I would recommend Savoie’s Andouille Sausage from Cajun Grocer.com.
For Andouille Baked Brie, you will need to remove the sausage from the casing. Chop it up and sauté it with jalapeños, onions, garlic, rosemary and thyme. Slice the brie in half and spread a portion of the mixture on the bottom half, cover, and spread the remaining mixture on top. Bake until the cheese oozes and serve with warm French bread.
