Nothing says summertime like apple pie and ice cream. This Apple Dew recipe is an easy way to enjoy both without the hassle of baking an actual homemade apple pie. The ingredients may surprise you, but trust me when I say the combination works great together!
I remember having this for the first time and was shocked to learn it has Mountain Dew. As a kid, I lived on Mountain Dew, so I would often beg my mom for this for dessert. After meeting my husband, I made this for him. He’s not a huge dessert person, but he tried it without knowing about the Mountain Dew and was shocked but immediately fell in love!
I would definitely recommend using Granny Smith apples over any of the other varieties out there, but I’m sure it would still be just as good if you have a preference for another kind of apple. Just peel and core the apple, roll it in the individual crescent rolls with the rest of the ingredients and watch the magic happen!
I wouldn’t bother trying to make your own Crescent Roll dough when the store-bought one is full-proof and easy. This recipe has been around for decades and that’s because it’s so darn good! Be sure to serve these Apple Dew bites with some vanilla ice cream and watch the entire batch disappear! And don’t forget to drizzle some of the natural sauce from the pan on top!
